Flea Free Cats
Cat's get fleas and ticks. No matter how refined we are and how far above such parasites we think our cats are they will still suffer from fleas and ticks. There really is no getting away from it. Other products such as Advantage for Cats concentrate on total flea control by killing adult fleas so quickly they are unable to lay eggs so halting the flea population.
Because flea drops are oil based products the flea killing power remains regardless of your pet's exposure to water. So bathing your cat or allowing them out in the rain is perfectly fine and will not affect their cat flea treatment.
Oral Cat Flea Treatment
There are two modern cat flea treatments which are given orally, in tablet form.
The first, Capstar offers 24 hours of total flea control, killing all fleas which meet your cat during this time. Extremely mild, so that it can be used every day if necessary, it is a favoured method of flea control for pets who only suffer flea infestations rarely. These are particularly useful before taking your pet to the vet's, boarding kennels or if you need fleas destroyed rapidly when the infestation is large or causing skin problems for your cat.
The second oral flea treatment is Program. This offers a completely different method of flea control. Inhibiting immature fleas developing further, once the adult population dies out your cat will be flea free. Using insect growth inhibitors means this is a mild product proving extremely safe for pets.
